In honor of the release, Earth, Wind & Fire stopped by CNN’s “New Day” this morning to kick off the celebrations. I’m honored to be a part of the Earth, Wind & Fire legacy. Artists like me only dream of moments like this. Lucky adds: “When I first got the call, I flipped. The goal was to create a reimagined version of this classic song that reflects Lucky’s unique voice and musical style, while still honoring the original.” “We really wanted to bring a tremendous, iconic song that is unmistakably Earth, Wind & Fire into the contemporary world of Lucky Daye. “This project has been fantastic to work on,” says Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. It was fun recording with my brothers and putting them to the test. It was a lot of fun recording that song as a producer because I had all the tools to make it work. Babyface, K-Ci & JoJo Hailey (formerly of Jodeci), and Kevon Edmonds and Melvin Edmonds (of After 7) formed this group to perform a song for the 'Soul Food' soundtrack, however, Babyface doesn't completely rule out the possibility of an album together.
